League Activities

The League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area (LWVGDA) is a 501(c)(3), nonpartisan, non-profit, educational organization. Effective July 1, 2021, your gift to the LVWGDA is fully tax-deductible where permitted by law. An easy way to contribute is through the Kroger Community Rewards program (Look for “League of Women Voters GDA” and use organization ID 80841).

The League is a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Voter Service activities of the LWVGDA include:

  • Candidate forums
  • Candidate Interviews on Cable TV, produced in collaboration with local cable stations
  • Publication of The Voter’s Guide
  • Directory of Public Officials, in print and online
  • Information about the use of the new voting machines in Montgomery and Greene counties.
  • Voter registration and absentee ballot information
  • Informational programs on local and national issues
