| The League of Women
Voters of the Greater Dayton Area is a nonprofit
organization that conducts action and advocacy on
specific issues.
After studying a given issue and reaching consensus
of members, League arrives at a set of positions
-- local, state or national -- depending on the scope
of the study. Based on these positions, action
can then be taken as an issue arises, after approval
by the League President and Action Chair. The
action may take the form of:
- contacting public officials,
- writing letters to the editor,
- holding a press conference,
- circulating petitions,
- testifying, working with coalitions,
- lobbying,
- monitoring or
- litigating.
